Coronation Street revealed an affair was going to occur between Tyrone Hobbs (played by Alan Halsall) and Alina Pop (Ruzandra Porojnicu) this month. As for what is going to happen to Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine), in usual circumstances she will find out about Tyrone’s feelings for the younger woman and apart from mocking him and suggesting he is having a midlife crisis, she does little else. Last night, there was a turning point when Tyrone agreed to Fiz’s wedding plans in Greece, despite kissing Alina just hours earlier. And while Fiz is extremely happy to hear her fiancé on board with the idea of eloping, little does she know what Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) has to say to her about what she has witnessed in the garage, working alongside Tyrone.
During scenes which aired last night, Alina wrapped a gift for Tyrone as a thank you for helping her fix her grandfather’s car.
In the meantime, Seb told Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) how he felt towards Alina and Emma advised him to be honest.
Alina then arrived at the garage and spoke to Fiz, but she was sheepish around the older woman, worried Fiz knows about her feelings towards Tyrone.
When she returns back to the flat, Seb asks Alina to join him for lunch and when he says he wants to be more than friends, she sets the record straight; she has moved on and doesn’t see Seb as a love interest anymore.
Alina then left and took a walk to Victoria Gardens where she was interrupted by Tyrone.

She told him she was falling in love with him and together, they shared a kiss, but Tyrone ends up revoking Alina’s advances and told her he was never really interested in her, leaving her upset.
When Tyrone got home, he didn’t mention a word to Fiz about what just happened with Alina and instead, say they should get married in Greece as she suggested.
Seb, on the other hand, heads to the garage to speak to Abi and tells her and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) how Alina knocked him back.
“I just made an idiot of myself with Alina,” Seb said. “Mis-read the signals didn’t I? Knew she was interested in someone and I thought it was me. how stupid am I?”
Both Abi and Kevin work closely alongside Tyrone in the car garage and nothing really gets past Abi – perhaps she has seen Tyrone liaising with Alina in recent days?
Later on, in the episode, Tyrone eventually apologises to Alina for how he reacted when they kissed and she tells him they have to forget about what happened between them and carry on as normal.
When Tyrone returns home, he tells Fiz he is not well and wants to get an early night, which leaves her disappointed as she had planned a romantic evening for them.
Express.co.uk spoke to those involved in the storyline and discussed what’s to come.
The actress who plays Fiz said her character is blindsided by Tyrone having feelings for Alina.
She said: “So Fiz has said Alina can come and live with them and Fiz has joked about the fact that he’s got a crush on Alina, and Fiz is fine with that, she laughs about, her and his Nana laughs that Tyrone fancies the fit girl that’s been living with us and that’s fine.

“But then there is literally a moment where he says ‘No, it’s more than that’.
“And Fiz then realises all the other stuff where she thought she was happy and she thought it was all okay and they were just rowing like normal people row – because life’s hard – that’s not what it was.
“It was that Tyrone was wanting to be somewhere else, which was with her [Alina] and not Fiz.”
When asked whether the spark in Fiz and Tyrone’s relationship had vanished before Alina arrived, Jennie continued: “I think they have lost the spark – that’s his [Tyrone’s] way of putting it – the bloke who’s run off with the fancy free girl.
“But if you mean; have they got a life that is two kids, his Nana, and the washing machine that sometimes doesn’t work very well, and sometimes you have to look after her brothers kids as well – life, boring life? Yes, they have got that.”
So does Fiz think they’ve lost the spark in her relationship too?
“Fiz definitely doesn’t feel like [they’ve lost the spark],” the actress revealed.
“She feels like everything’s okay; they’ve got two kids, they’ve got this life – it is what it is, hard work, and the Nana lives there and the dog lives there, she don’t really think so, but I think Tryone might.
“I’m pretty sure Tyrone thinks we’ve lost our spark,” she continued. “She’s happy!
“Everything that she ever wanted was a family, and to be settled because she never had that. As a kid – she had a terrible mom we know that, I mean a fabulous person played here but she was a terrible mother.”
Coronation Street returns on Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
