A homeless man who flops at a shelter in the Bowery has been arrested for back-to-back shootings in Tompkins Square Park in which two innocent bystanders were wounded, police said Wednesday.

Cops grabbed Waldemar Alverio, 33, on Tuesday, charging him with both shootings in the Manhattan green space.

He was slapped with attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment charges, police said.

Alverio has an extensive criminal history with 48 prior arrests and was staying at a Project Renewal shelter on Bowery, about four blocks from the park, police said.

Gunshots rang out in the park near Avenue A and E. Ninth St. in the East Village around 12:47 p.m. on March 16 as scores of visitors enjoyed 60-degree temperatures, cops said.

When police arrived, they found a 26-year-old man shot in the buttocks and a 53-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the right hip.

EMS took both victims to Bellevue Hospital, where they were treated and released.

Less than a week later, on March 21, shots rang out in the park once again, this time near E. 8th St. and Avenue B. The shooter was seen fleeing the park on a CitiBike, cops said. No one was hit by gunfire.

Alverio was having an ongoing clash with someone in the park when he opened fire at his rival. A week later, he again opened fire at the rival, police sources said.

His arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court was pending Wednesday.
