Cold weather payment recipients will get £25 for every seven day period of very cold weather between November and March. The triggers for these payments are issued by the DWP and today, they have released their latest alerts.
People may be eligible for cold weather payments if they’re getting:
- Pension Credit
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Universal Credit or
- Support for Mortgage Interest
If a person does not receive cold weather payments but feels they are entitled to it they will need to contact their pension centre or a Jobcentre Plus office,
For those on Universal Credit, they will need to sign into their online account for help
Should a Universal Credit claimant not have an online account, they should instead ring the dedicated helpline.
The phone number for this will be on letters they receive about their Universal Credit claims.
