‘Pedophile’ CNN producer who worked on Chris Cuomo’s show DENIES child sex charges including allegation he paid $3,000 to fly girl, 9, from Nevada to Vermont so he could sexually abuse her
Former CNN employee John Griffin – a longtime producer for fellow disgraced network star Chris Cuomo – denied Wednesday paying a Nevada woman $3,000 to fly a nine year-old girl to Vermont to be sexually assaulted.
Griffin, 44, pleaded not guilty during a U.S. District Court arraignment in Vermont to three charges of child sex trafficking. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
Griffin was arrested earlier this month after being indicted by a federal grand jury on the counts, with one relating to a young girl who stayed with a woman at his Vermont home last year.
He is being held without bail after U.S. Attorney for the District of Vermont Nikolas Kerest on Monday filed a motion for detention, asking a judge to him locked up.
‘Griffin has tried to deceive, delete, and spend his way out of being held accountable,’ the prosecutor wrote. ‘He is a wealthy man who will be desperate to avoid facing justice.
