Pots and pans can often look old and used just months after purchasing them. Burnt on food and unsightly grease stains can remain stubbornly in place despite hours of scrubbing. Now, fans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch have explained how you can clean your pots and pans using ketchup.
The post was immediately inundated with comments from cleaning enthusiasts.
One strange tip that was repeatedly mentioned was using tomato ketchup to remove the grease stains.
A user said: “Ketchup. Leave for two hours.”
Another replied: “Tomato sauce, leave it on for an hour then wipe off.”
While tomato ketchup may sound like a strange tip, the condiment actually contains citric acid and vinegar which can you clean.
Tomato ketchup can be used to help clean stainless steel, copper, cast iron, brass and silver.
Mrs Hinch fans also recommended using pink stuff paste to remove the grease stains.
Others recommended Bar Keepers friend and a scourer, or Astonish cleaner.
Another user recommended blending grapefruit and mixing it with salt and leaving it on the pan for 30 minutes.
