Cleaning expert, Lynsey Crombie, AKA the Queen of Clean, showed her followers how to clean a 2p coin using tomato ketchup. The expert, who has more than 225,000 followers on Instagram, told her followers that ketchup can be used to clean a multitude of objects around the home. She said in one of her Instagram story highlights: “Other uses for ketchup around the home.
The coin that had been cleaned with the ketchup looked brand new.
She continued: “That just shows you, if you’ve got brass handles in your house, a brass letterbox on your front door that’s discoloured, a bit of ketchup will start to bring it back to life.
“That was just 10 minutes. If I’d left that a big longer and it had a bit more scrubbing, it would be shiner.
“It’s amazing isn’t it? A lot of people have messaged me this morning, and said ‘we eat this stuff, we dip our chips in it, what does it do to our insides?’
In a video, she used tights as a loofah to clean around the tap.
She also recommended using a mixture of water, white vinegar and washing up liquid to clean bathroom shower screens and tiles.
Another white vinegar tip is using it to clean shower heads.
Lynsey said to put a shower head in a plastic sandwich bag and fill it with white vinegar.
If you leave the shower head in the bag for 15 minutes it will remove limescale deposits.
