Chris Pratt’s stunt double Tony McFarr dead at 47

Tony McFarr, a Hollywood stuntman best known for his work with Chris Pratt, has died at the age of 47.

McFarr died Monday at his home outside Orlando, TMZ reported. His cause of death remained unclear Thursday, but McFarr’s mother told the outlet it was shocking and unexpected.

The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed it was investigating McFarr’s death and running toxicology tests.

Beginning with the TV show “Bones” in 2011, McFarr appeared as a stunt double in numerous Hollywood productions. He worked on “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” “Teen Wolf,” “Furious 7” and both “Mockingjay” films from the “Hunger Games” series, among many other movies and shows.

McFarr began working with Pratt on “Jurassic World” in 2015. He also doubled for Pratt in the sequel, “Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom,” “Passengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”

Pratt gave McFarr a shoutout on Instagram after filming the second “Guardians” film, during which both men were injured.

“Here’s me and my stuntman Tony McFarr … on set,” Pratt wrote. “Been working with Tony since ‘Jurassic World.’ Love you buddy! Happy wrap!”

Along with “Guardians,” McFarr was also part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for stunts in “Captain America: Civil War” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp.”

McFarr also earned a couple acting credits on the TV series “Graceland,” “Burn Notice” and “One Tree Hill.”

He’s survived by his mother, father, sister and daughter, according to TMZ.
