Children’s hospital worker arrested after hidden camera found in bathroom

A 47-year-old children’s hospital worker was arrested in Rhode Island after a USB wall charger outfitted with a hidden camera was discovered in a staff bathroom.

Hasbro Children’s Hospital employee Jason Baker confessed to video voyeurism, according to WPRI in Providence, R.I. The bathroom was reportedly not used by patients or hospital visitors.

Baker worked at the hospital for more than 20 years, according to the Boston Globe. He was arrested Wednesday and expected to be arraigned Thursday. Video voyeurism is punishable by up to three years in prison in Rhode Island.

Hospital officials said the suspect is no longer an employee and will not have access to the facility. Support is to be provided for employees affected by Baker’s alleged activity.

Providence police conducted an “exhaustive sweep” to make sure there were no other hidden cameras in the hospital. The camera Baker allegedly installed was discovered by another employee Tuesday and immediately disabled, according to CBS News.

Hasbro Children’s Hospital is the largest of its kind in the Rhode Island area, according to Childrenshospitals.org. The 30-year-old facility has more than 70 beds.
