Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall made sentimental tribute to Prince Philip with rifles brooch

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall wore a large black hat and face covering at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. She completed the sombre look with a brooch which linked to Prince Philip.

The brooch relates to Camilla’s position as the Colonel-in-Chief of the Rifles.

This role was transferred to her last year after previously being held by Prince Philip. 

The Duke of Edinburgh had held the role since 1977. 

The eye-catching brooch was commission by The Rifles and given to Camilla by General Sir Patrick Sanders, Colonel Commandant of The Rifles.

The diamond brooch is in the shape of an anchor.

It is covered in diamonds with a crown at the top and three small emeralds.

The Duchess of Cornwall wore it pinned to the front of her black coat.

Inkeeping with the royal dress code for the service, Camilla wore a long black coat.

Following coronavirus protocol, she wore a lace face covering and she wore black leather gloves.

The funeral was attended by just 30 guests due to coronavirus restrictions. 

Camilla was seen with royals including Kate Middleton and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

Prince Charles, Prince Edward, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Zara Tindall also attended.
