BT is bringing more sporting action to its BT TV customers, with some lucky subscribers even able to access this bonus content for free. The firm has announced the launch of Eurosport on its platform and anyone who already pays for the Big Sport and VIP packages will now be able to enjoy this update without paying a penny more.

If you weren’t already aware, Eurosport offers a swathe of sporting action including snooker, cycling, tennis, athletics, winter sports and motor racing plus there’s full live coverage coming from year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo.

BT says that Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 will be available on channel 412 and 413, customers on the VIP package will also be able to watch both channels in HD at 435 and 436. Big Sport customers can access HD channels through the BT HD/Combi HD Add On. All Big Sport and VIP customers will get access to Eurosport on-demand content via the BT Player and BT TV app.

Speaking about the changes Siena Pakington, Content Director, BT said, “The addition of Eurosport to our flexible TV packages makes BT TV the destination for sports fans. With an exciting spring and summer of sport coming up, our customers will be ready to enjoy all the action from the comfort of their own home.”

Senior Vice President, Head of Commercial Partnerships for Discovery, Lydia Fairfax added: “We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with BT to offer customers of Big Sport and VIP access to Eurosport 1 and 2 at no extra cost. As the number one sport destination in Europe, we connect passionate fans with their favourite sports, including the tennis Grand Slams, the Grand Tour cycling events, and of course the Olympic Games this summer.”

BT first announced its new TV service last year. At launch, the firm boasted that it offers users the freedom to choose the TV shows, films and sport they want, when they want – with the flexibility to upgrade or downgrade their package every month.

The bundles, which start from £10 per month, include a swathe of content and you can even get instant access to Sky Sports, Entertainment and Cinema. Sky’s shows are beamed to your living room via NOW TV which means you can chop and change what you want to watch each month without paying a penalty.

BT also says that its service will offer a more simple experience with Netflix and Amazon Prime available via a touch on the remote. BT’s VIP service costs £65 per month with Big Sport currently half price at £20 per month, then £40
