Cops are frantically searching for a Bronx carjacker who swiped a Mercedes with a 4-year-old boy in the backseat early Saturday.
The armed crook took the white Mercedes with a black roof as it idled outside the Metro Motel on E. 241st St. near White Plains Road in Wakefield at about 7:30 a.m., police said.
The thief pulled a gun on the driver, jumped into the Mercedes, and sped off, apparently not knowing there was a child in the back seat, cops were told.
Police are investigating the possibility that the car owner may have known the thief who took the vehicle.
Cops were scouring the area looking for the missing Mercedes Benz. No arrests have been made.
The carjacker is described as Black with black hair and dyed blonde tips. He was wearing a cream-colored hoodie and blue jeans when he swiped the car, cops said.
