British EuroMillions winner gets restraining order on former mistress – ‘Google me’

People’s Postcode Lottery present couples with £30,000 prizes

Ex-bricklayer Gareth Bull, aged 50, won £41 million in 2012 on the pan-European lottery. In 2016 he met Donna Desporte, now 52, in Tenerife whilst on a lads holiday whilst still married to wife Catherine.

She was running a bar on the Spanish island, and later revealed Mr Bull used “Google me” as a pick-up line.

As a result of the ruling 36 passages from ‘Google Me, No Lies’, Ms Desporte’s book about the relationship, must be removed.

She has also been banned from publishing four photographs “taken privately” by Mr Bull, in the work.

Ms Desporte had argued she had the right to speak out publicly, in response to claims she was a “gold digger”.

However, her argument was slapped down at the High Court by Justice Julian Knowles, who concluded there is no public interest in their sexual relationship.

Justice Knowles branded Ms Desporte’s behaviour “totally unacceptable”.

He added: “Donna Desporte has persistently made totally without merit applications in a number of actions over an extended period.

“They have been certified as totally without merit by experienced judges at every level from the Master up to the Court of Appeal.

“These totally meritless applications have occupied a large amount of court time and resources, as well as Gareth Bull’s resources, over a number of years.”

According to The Sun Mrs Bull spotted her husband on TV with Ms Desporte in 2017, at an Anthony Joshua boxing match.

The couple, who have two sons, split later that same year.

Ms Desporte said Mr Bull said he was separated when he first approached her.

However he asked her to keep their relationship a secret, to avoid handing his wife ammunition in any potential divorce.

In 2012, following his EuroMillions win, Mr Bull was presented with a cheque for £40,627,241 at a press conference in Nottingham.

He said: “All of this has happened at a crazy fast speed since Saturday and it is hard to keep up.

“We have our dream home which we built from scratch and it is impossible to think about what we are going to do next yet.”

According to The Metro Mr Bull said he wanted a Range Rover sport, overseas villa and family trip to Disney in Florida.

He also hoped to get a box at Old Trafford, the Manchester United stadium.

Mrs Bull was more modest in her aspirations, saying what she really wanted was a fresh landing carpet.

Catherine refused to comment, in 2017, when contacted by The Sun following their split.

Her husband said: “I’m between both homes at the minute.”

A source close to the couple commented: “The marriage has been doomed for some time.

“To be fair, it wasn’t the greatest when they hit the jackpot. They felt the massive win may help improve matters.

“But the curse of the Lottery has struck yet again.”
