The Government stated: “Now that the UK has left the EU, the Government intends to strike deals on personal data transfers with some of its key trading partners around the world.”

It will target striking data adequacy partnerships with key trading partners such as the US, Australia, South Korea and Dubai.

Another priority is Singapore, which in December signed a “cutting-edge” Digital Economy Agreement with the UK to boost digital trade.

The Government added: “Securing new data transfer agreements will build significantly on the annual £83billion of data-enabled UK service exports.”
