Bournemouth are interested in signing Carroll for the rest of the season as they continue to push for promotion, according to The Sun.

A switch to Bournemouth could be beneficial for Carroll as Scott Parker’s side can offer him more money in wages than Reading – who are under transfer restrictions.

Additionally, Carroll could receive a promotion bonus if Bournemouth are able to return to the top-flight.

Nevertheless, Bournemouth will have to fight off interest from Premier League giants such as Burnley.

Carroll was released by Newcastle last summer and spent four months training alone before joining Reading.

The 33-year-old accepted a wage of £1,000-per-week to prove his form and fitness at the Championship club.

The striker managed to do so – scoring two goals in eight games – despite the team struggling at the wrong end of the table.

Therefore, Reading could offer the Englishman a contract extension at the club.

Nevertheless, Carroll is now a free agent and able to listen to offers from various club.
