On Easter Monday, Boris Johnson is expected to address the nation in the late afternoon to set out the next steps out of lockdown. These will include plans to reopen non-essential shops and hospitality on April 12, the potential of a coronavirus vaccine passport, and plans to reopen international travel from May 17.
How will the travel traffic light system work?
While the Prime Minister will set out the exact plans, it is expected that foreign destinations will be graded as green, amber or red for UK travellers.
Green countries would mean people could return to the UK with no restrictions.
Amber destinations would most likely mean people having to quarantine at home.
Red countries would likely require a formal, 10-day quarantine stay at a hotel.
