“Baywatch” alum Nicole Eggert isn’t letting her recent breast cancer diagnosis bring her down.
The 52-year-old actress, who gained fame in the ’90s as lifeguard Summer Quinn in the hit TV series, posted an Instagram video of her shaving her head on Saturday and took to social media to share her finished look.
“Egghead ♥️🥚♥️,” she captioned the selfie taken in a hospital bed.
With an IV taped to her left shoulder, Eggert dons a pair of glasses with a mask under her mouth for the new image of her bald pate.
Her 12-year-old daughter Keegan helped with the hair cutting in the original video as the Beastie Boys’ “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)” played in the background. A quotation from author and mindfulness practitioner Madeline Eames was used in the caption: “Maybe healing involves not so much changing ourselves but allowing ourselves to be who we are.”
Fellow actresses sent heartwarming messages in the comments section.
“You have the most grace. It’s inspiring and I appreciate you,” “Charmed” star Alyssa Milano wrote, while “Beverly Hills 90210” alum Jennie Garth shared that she was “sending [her] a big hug.”
“Baywatch” co-star Erika Eleniak called Eggert a “badass” and said she was “stunningly gorgeous with or without hair.”
The “Charles In Charge” alum, whose father battled skin cancer and mother battled colon cancer, revealed she was diagnosed with stage-2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer in December.
“This journey’s been rough for me. This hasn’t been a breezy sail through life,” Eggert told People. “I always read inspirational quotes and corny stuff, but it gets me through.”
