America’s Got Talent winner Dustin Tavella ’emotionally exhausted’ & plans to sleep rather than party after winning $1M

DUSTIN Tavella revealed he’s emotionally exhausted after winning America’s Got Talent and going home with the $1million prize.

There will be no wild celebrations in coming days as the magician said he is glad to grab some slumber after feeling ‘so tired’ from his season 16 performances.

Tavella told The Sun that most of his energy will be ploughed into finding a new home as his home lease in Virginia Beach is up – and he must decide whether he’ll relocate to Las Vegas for his new job.

Tavella will be one of the headliners at the $5m AGT Live show in Sin City, which opens in six weeks.

Smiling wildly Tavella, 35, said: “Sleep sounds like the best party I could have right now. I have not done it in a long time. Honestly I am so tired.

“Emotionally this process has been so crazy that I am excited to go and lay in a bed and know my family is close and I can just be happy knowing all this time they told me they believed I could win.

“I get to tell them they were right. I have been telling them they are crazy for years now, and now we are here, it is insane.”

He insisted the million dollar prize was a nice addition to his victory, but the added extra of a new Kia car was more alluring.

“I don’t know if I will get the car tonight because it’d be awesome to go for a drive in a car where our family would fit.’

Tavella, who resides with his wife, Kari, and their adopted sons, Xander and Sylas, admits his prime focus is to move home.

‘Our lease on our apartment is up and we do not know what we are going to do. We are flying to Virginia Beach, loading up a U-Haul and heading to my parents to figure out what we are going to do.

“It is so unexpected and crazy. We have a lot to figure out.’”

One thing is certain for Tavlla is that he will head to Las Vegas next month to start rehearsals for the America’s Got Talent Las Vegas LIVE stage show at Luxor Hotel and Casino.

He wants his ‘positive family message’ to remain a theme for his future career: “For my Vegas act I want to make sure I stay true to myself, inspiring and motivating people; as far as the magic goes, the sky is the limit. We get to dream as big as we possibly can. I feel humbled and honored to feel part of everything.”

Magician Tavella pipped aerialist Aidan Bryant to win the top talent prize on TV with his inspirational performances tapping into stories from his personal life including his wedding day and his sons’ adoptions.

His final emotionally charged act showcased his art of storytelling with the spirit of philanthropy, using magic to spread his message of the power of giving.

Tavella says that the life changing TV experience has put a “fire under my butt” to write a memoir.

Judge and Executive Producer Simon Cowell said, “I’m so happy for Dustin, this will change his life and his family’s life. Next stop… Vegas!”

Born and raised in Pottstown, Penn., Tavella grew up going to magic shows with his grandparents in Atlantic City and fell in love with the art of connecting and entertaining people through magic.

With a personal motto of always living life with purpose, Tavella has worked with numerous humanitarian organizations aiding the homeless, mentoring in youth programs and helping women in crisis.
