Alfonso Herrera joined the cast of Queen of the South in season three as Javier Jimenez, the leader of the Death Squad and cousin to Jimenez Cartel leader Boaz Jimenez. After bonding with Teresa Mendoza (played by Alice Braga), he started to work for her instead as they shared a mutual respect for one another. Javier did have someone else though that he deeply cared about in series four of the USA Network series.

Emilia (Sofia Lama) was previously engaged to Boaz (Joseph Thomas Campos) but in season four, she developed feelings for Javier.
He was determined to protect his nervous girlfriend at all costs but she was kidnapped by Judge Lafayette (David Andrews) who questioned her about the death of Rene (James Austin Kerr).
She lied, claiming that she didn’t know anything but Randall (Cory Hart) discovered a matching earring, which was at the scene of Rene’s death, in Emilia’s purse.
Emilia was able to escape with the help of Davis (Derek Evans) but Randall caught up to them and dragged her into the woods, shot her and buried her body in the woods.

In a cute message, the actor wrote: “This year will be remembered by many as one of the worst in the world. history.
“For me, 2020 was saved by you. Welcome Nico, we still don’t know why you chose this family! Alias ’Pandemio’.”
His ex-girlfriend Maria even sent them a heartfelt message saying: “Welcome baby Nico!
“Without a doubt they have a special mission these babies! Congratulations and blessings at 4.”
Herrera’s story in Queen of the South though didn’t have a happy ending.
As Javier started the feud with Lafayette, leading to the death of Tony Parra (Julian Silva), he handed himself over to the judge.
He wasn’t ready to go yet without getting his revenge on Randall who murdered Emilia.
As Javier was set on fire, he pulled Randall in with him so they would die together.
Queen of the South is available to watch on USA Network and Netflix.
