The supermarket has seen huge demand for its Special Buy egg chair retailing at £149.99. According to the Liverpool Echo as many 35,000 people were stuck in a virtual queue at 8.10am. Those attempting to browse Aldi’s website were greeted with a notification warning of huge delays.

Due to high demand Aldi even restricted stock of the chair to one item per customer.

The hanging egg chair is an online exclusive and received hundreds of positive reviews online.

Another added: “Put it together in less than 20mins and I’m impressed with the quality, plus it looks great”

But some customers were left disappointed when they failed to bag themselves a chair.
