The accused South Carolina teen serial rapist who avoided any prison sentence visited the gravesite of one of his alleged victims after she took her own life, her family members have revealed.

Bowen Turner, 19, got off with a sentence of probation in a plea deal last week in Orangeburg County Court after admitting to assaulting pastor’s daughter Chloe Bess in 2019.

He was also accused of committing two other sexual assaults as a minor, including attacking 18-year-old Dallas Stoller in 2018, but charges in that case were dropped when Dallas died before trial.

Now, in emotional interviews with the Murdaugh Murders podcast, Dallas’ sister and father confirmed that she died of a self-inflicted injury, saying that she had suffered cruel abuse from classmates and even teachers after reporting the assault.

The family also revealed that they were horrified to learn that ankle monitor logs showed that Turner had visited Dallas’ gravesite in January, for reasons that are unclear. A sign by the grave now reads: ‘Bowen Turner, you are NOT welcomed here!’

Dallas accused Turner of raping her at a lakeside party on October 7, 2018, where friends found her lying unconscious as Turner stood putting his pants on, and bruises and scratches all over her body provided evidence of a violent assault, her family members say.

In the interview published on Wednesday, Dallas’ family said that they had expected community backlash when her sister reported the assault, due to Turner’s family connections in the community.

His father Walt was working as an investigator for South Carolina First Circuit solicitor David Pascoe, the local prosecutor, FitsNews reported.

‘If she proceeded to move forward, I knew what was coming as far as the bullying, and the community just 100% against her,’ said Dallas’ sister Brette Tabatabai told podcast host Mandy Matney.

Both Dallas and Turner attended Orangeburg Preparatory School, and Tabatabai said classmates and even teachers immediately took sides with Turner in the case.

‘She actually had to stay in school with him for two weeks while the school board decided what they were going to do when he was charged,’ the sister said. ‘She had to walk the halls in school with him for two weeks after the fact.’

Dallas’ father Karl Stoller said: ‘She was at the time her senior class president, so she was well known in her school and in her class. She was pushed around pretty badly by the kids who drew the line in the sand and took sides.’

‘That was pretty devastating to her, to have gone what she went through, and then have people basically saying that she was lying about it,’ he said.

Nevertheless, said Tabatabai, Dallas told her family that she didn’t seek vengeance, but wanted Turner to get help before he hurt anyone else.

‘She had a big enough heart, saying that he was sick and he needed to get help, and she didn’t want to ruin his life. Even though he ultimately ruined hers, she did not want to ruin his live, but she knew he was sick and he would hurt someone else,’ she said. ‘They were friends before all of this.’

Father Karl confirmed: ‘Even after this happened, she said, Bowen is my friend, I don’t want him hurt, I just want him to get help because he’s got something going on.’

Turner was arrested and charged with Dallas’ rape in January 2019. He was free on bond when he was accused of raping teen Chloe Bess at a party in June 2019.

After a brief stint in juvenile detention, Turner was again freed on bond and placed on an ankle monitor,  local news station WCSC reported.

Meanwhile, Dallas left for college at the College of Charleston, where she hoped to study sports management and become a physical therapist.

But instead of getting a fresh start, Dallas found that the bullying followed her to college, where some of her high school classmates also matriculated.

‘Some of the people she went to high school with, and that started the #FreeBowen hashtag, and slut-shamed her — actually one of the main ones happened to be on her hall in her dorm,’ said Tabatabai.

‘So she went there for a fresh start and immediately it started,’ the sister said. ‘She was so anxious that she was getting physically ill.’

‘Dallas had to go to the hospital several times while she was a at college…Because she was throwing up and getting sick so often that she was getting stomach ulcers,’ said Tabatabai.

‘I really can’t explain to you the mental impact that this had on her.’

Relatives of Stoller said he was merely given a slap on the wrist. 'The fact that the defendant is going to walk free today and our sister is never going to walk the earth again,' Stoller's sister, Brette Tabatabai (far right) said. We feel like not only her voice was stolen but ours too.'

Under overwhelming stress, Dallas transferred from Charleston to the University of South Carolina at Beaufort. But her mental health struggle followed her.

‘She was seeing a therapist, she was getting help, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough,’ said Tabatabai.

Dallas died on Sunday, November 12, 2021 after succumbing to a self-inflicted injury.

On January 4, 2022, at 9pm, Turner apparently visited Dallas’ gravesite, according to ankle monitoring logs seen by her family.

Family members of both Dallas and Chloe were shocked when the ankle monitoring records were released in March, showing that Turner had violated the strict conditions of his bond some 50 times.

Court records state that Turner violated bond to visit golf courses, a Brazilian steakhouse, several other restaurants, sporting goods stores and even went out of state to Georgia to go car-shopping.

Last week, with a hearing looming to revoke his bond, Turner with the help of his attorney Brad Hutto, a state senator, cut a plea deal in Chloe’s assault that resulted in no prison time.

Turner, who had been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of assault and battery.

He will serve no jail time if he abides by the terms of probation, and will not have to register as a sex offender.

Second Circuit Deputy Solicitor David Miller, the prosecutor assigned to the case, agreed to the deal.

Miller had also dropped the charges against Turner in connection to the assault on Dallas following her death, saying that Turner had the right to face his accuser.

Turner’s third accuser describes sickening assault and says she hid behind a bush afterwards as he screamed her name

Chloe Bess, who bravely spoke out and agreed to be publicly identified as an assault survivor, also gave an interview on the podcast to describe her ordeal.

‘I was just with my friends trying to have a good time,’ she said. ‘It’s one of those things where you don’t think it could happen until it happens to you.’

Chloe said she was at a house party in June 2019, when through a mis-communication, her brother and best friend both left to grab food without her.

The teen stepped outside to call her friend for a ride, when she says that Turner followed her out and hovered around her as she tried to make the call.

‘I kind of started to feel uncomfortable, but he lived down the street from me,’ recalled Chloe. ‘My dad’s a pastor and his family attended our church, so he was familiar to me.’

Chloe said that, due to the suddenness and violence of the attack, her memory is fragmentary, but that key details stick out.

Chloe Bess, who bravely spoke out and agreed to be publicly identified as an assault survivor, also gave an interview on the podcast to describe her ordeal

‘I remember him coming out, and I was asking my friend to come pick me up, or when she was coming back,’ she said.

‘The phone conversation ends, and I just remember him pulling me into a tree-line, there’s a truck parked there and we go behind the truck. The next thing I know I’m on the ground. And he’s a lot bigger than me, I only weigh 115 pounds, I’m really tiny,’ she said.

‘So there was not much I could do at that moment in time,’ Chloe recalled.

‘I remember looking at the stars, that was the main point. And I could feel what was happening, I was aware of what was going on, and I was just petrified. I wanted to kick and scream, but I couldn’t move, I didn’t know what to do,’ she said.

‘I was looking at the stars and I’m just like, ok, I hope it’s at least quick so I can get up and run away,’ said Chloe.

Chloe said that as soon as she could get free, she fled back inside the house and ran into the bathroom.

‘I remember I ended up in the bathroom, and I was looking at myself in the mirror, my hair was all crazy, there were leaves and twigs in my hair, my shirt was all askew, it was like I wasn’t even looking at myself. It was very weird,’ she recalled.

Peering out the bathroom door, Chloe says that she saw Turner asleep on a couch, and fled outside, where she crouched behind a bush and tried to call for help.

‘I hid behind a bush, pulled my phone out, it’s all cracked and shattered at this point, and on 1 percent [battery] as well. So I just clicked the first person that my phone opened to, he was one of my good guy friends at the time,’ she said.

‘I don’t even know how he understood what I was saying, because I was so hysterical, but all I said was Bowen’s name and he knew, and he was like, “I’m on the way”,’ recalled Chloe.

But as she hid behind the bush waiting for rescue, Chloe says she heard something that sent a chill down her spine.

‘Bowen now walks out of the house and is screaming my name,’ she recalled. ‘So if you can imagine the terror of me hiding behind this bush as he’s screaming my name. I’m aware of what just happened, and I don’t even know what to make of it.’

Chloe says that as she continued to hide, Turner got into a truck and began driving around, screaming her name out of the window.

‘My friend told me he was about to pull in, so I make my way up the driveway, I see his car and get in,’ she said. ‘I felt safe once I got in that car.’

Chloe reported the attack and had a sexual assault medical exam performed at a local hospital.

Turner’s father, Walt Turner, is an investigator for the South Carolina Solicitor’s first circuit solicitor. The older Turner recused himself and the investigation was handed to Miller.

Turner is being represented by South Carolina state senator Brad Hutto.

In 2019, Hutto made distasteful comments about the victims, implying at least one of them had consensual sex with Turner and later regretted it.

‘Well, guess what? You just had sex on the ground with a boy you didn’t really know and you got up and you feel ashamed, you feel regret, that’s not rape,’ Hutto told a court three years ago regarding Chloe Bess,  The Times and Democrat reported.

‘She did not object, she did not scratch, she did not push, she did not call out. When asked point blank if she said, ”no,” she didn’t. When asked point blank if she said ”stop,” she didn’t.’

The victims’ lawyer, Sarah Ford has since filed motions to appeal Turner’s sentence.

Chloe and her family have since moved to another state to try to put the ordeal behind them.
