A young child struck by a car on Staten Island Tuesday afternoon is in critical condition, police said.
Shortly after school let out around 3:10 p.m., a 10-year-old boy was riding a scooter when he was hit by a car on the island’s North Shore at the intersection of Nicholas St. and Richmond Terrace, according to police.
Medics rushed the boy to Richmond University Medical Center, where he is in critical condition, cops said.
The 28-year-old driver remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
